Probably the greatest rap song ever, composed by the most talented rappers ever. For the first time in MP3 format on earth.

SHOOT ME WITH YOUR LOVE (Inst.): TASHA THOMAS
I always thought I'd bust this old disco joint at a party some day and everyone would be lovin' it, Thinkin I was some kinda genius. But I'm not, and I never did, and probably never will.
BOOK OF THE WEEK: BEDWETTER by Sarah Silverman
"I've been very prescrictive, and at moments just flat out judgemental in this chapter, and it's about to get a little worse. I am also going to suggest you make anal sex a treat. In my own life, it's nonexistent. I am one of those people who believe anuses are filthy (except mine, you could eat off mine-it's been scientifically proven). Again doody comes out of tushies-mine excepted-and that's gross."

LIL KEKE & PAUL WALL & UGK vs TWILIGHT 22
This is an old blend from THE RUB. Google that if you don't know what that is (cuz ya should).I might feel some guilt about sharing this since I'm sure you can still buy it at their website (which is pretty amazing in itself) but I paid over 20 bux for it and it came in the mail warped, so fuck em.
I love that old Twilight 22 song. It was on KTels how to Breakdance album.....
CASTAWAY COWBOY
James Garner is the greatest actor ever. I swear I'm just watching a documentary when he's on. This movie is pretty good, except for the kid in it is a ginger and has a weird mouth. It's annoying. Theres some racism againt Hawaiins which is heartwarmingly Disneyish. Basically, a cowboy is shipwrecked in Hawaii and teaches them to farm cattle instead of potatoes. An hilarious premise I assure you. Now available on DVD.
WOWOYA:FIFTH DIMENSION
I don't know when I started to love the Fifth Dimension but I sure do. They make me feel good. They made Laura Nyro's songs listenable. And they knew how to dress.....go pick up a whole album sometime (you can find greatest hits collections in dollar bins everywhere) AND FEEL GOOD.....

DEATH OF HIP HOP: KOOL DJ EQ
I was so into turntablism in the late 90's. In my deluded state I believed it would be awesome to play entire sets composed of cohesively blended songs of other dudes scratching. FAILLLLL. No chicks left on the dancefloor.
Anyway, I played the shit out of this one. From Bomb Records Return of the DJ Volume 2. This was the record featuring ZTrips Rockstar that kinda made us all pay attention......

ITO EATS: ELVIS PRESLEY
I have never seen Blue Hawaii but I own the soundtrack. I imagine in the scene when Elvis sang this song to Ito, Ito's feelings got hurt and he laid a major irony curse on the King. Great little ditty though.
BOOK OF THE WEEK: FAKE I.D. by Jason Starr
Jason Starrs books are noir, pulpy, and addictive. Seriously. You can read one in an afternoon. They tend to be about these loveable losers who go wrong somewhere along the way and the suspense just builds and builds. Fake ID is no exception.
The main charachter is a failed actor turned bouncer with a bad gambling addiction and an anger management problem.....but all his problems would end if he can just come up with $10.000 to buy a racehorse.....

BEENIE VS 50:Great Men Poppin Dem Tings
When I used to do a dancehall night in Victoria, I was all over these reggae/hip hop blends called STRICTLY FOR THE DREADS. This was on a similar compilation series called HALF LIFE....the remix was by someone called CHILD.
DJ PLAN: SOME OLD JOINTS
Yeah, you called it. Shameless self promotion. I do a mixtape every month or so, sometimes more often. This latest one features some hip-house, new jack, positive rap, and a hint of west-coast thuggishness. Free downloads! You can also subscribe through Itunes.....

Extirpation / To the Gallows (Live): GORE
I got this in the late 80's. Its a split LP with the Henry Rollins Band (Playin at El Mocambo) of all things. I don't think I've ever listened to that side. I would love to share all 4 songs on this but there's a pretty good warp on the first track.....

Life: Dr. John
This Allen Toussaint joint is classic New Orleans. Dr. John still had the Meters as his back up band. Pick up the album if you can get it but heres a lil taste....

Mardis Gras
Heres some New Orleans music so you can stay home and be depressed instead of having the greatest party ever.
Scrappy Chief (Lil Scrappy vs DR John) : Diplo
This on the Bside of Hollertronix 4. I am aware that Scrappy is from Atlanta but seriously, Dr John makes up for that. Besides, this track is jammin. Go to MadDecent.com for more Diplo and Hollertronix stuff....go to New Orleans for everything else.
I got this off a compilation I bought in NOLa called Funky Funky New Orleans Vol.4. There is some great forgotten bands on there. Worth the price for the cover alone.
Book of the Week: I, Fatty by Jerry Stahl
I'm gonna try to do a book of the week every week. if i miss a week maybe i'll do two the next week. I have a ton of reads I'd like to recommend. I just finished this one.....
Its a first person biography of Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle, silent film star, director, and accused rapist and murderer. Its an epic tragedy, from his youth as the overweight son of an abusive alcoholic father, desperate for approval to America's Favourite film star, hooked on dope , all the while filled with self loathing and seeking solace in a bottle. Written by Jerry Stahl, the guy who shot dope and spoked crack while trying to write episodes of Alf (remember Permanent Midnight with Ben Stiller? Thats the guy....). While its hard to know how much is actually fact its still an amazing story. I highly recommend. (Thanks for the tip Jesse)

"Everybody in the motherfuckin building pay total attention, if you at the bar right now put your fuckin drinks down...."
While not quite as good as the dj Ayres Punchemindaface slayer remix that uses that sample.....this is still a total banger. Although their heyday is over they still have some great stuff for sale. Check Clubangaz.com for more info....

Shake Dat Ass Girl: DJ Mister Cee
This is the greatest party track of all time. I wore out one copy and had to buy a re-issue.....of course Hot 97 superstar and the genius behind most of Big Daddy Kanes tracks as well as Biggies first album knows how to get things goin. But be careful.....use wisely.
Dick Hyman: Minotaur
I should just put this whole album on here, but I'm not. This is certainly the best of the bunch.....I'll be sharing lots of moog stuff with y'all.
NAS VS SABBATH-Shoot the Warpigs (Inhumanz)
